LATEST UPDATE
Hammersmith Head 2023 - cancellation
Following a course inspection on Thursday morning in conditions that are forecast to be closely similar to those expected on Sunday the committee has reluctantly decided that Hammersmith Head 2023 will be cancelled. The wind direction in particular is problematic and water conditions are expected to be extremely difficult between Barnes Bridge and Chiswick Pier. This together with forecast wind speeds gusting up to 25mph will make both trailering and marshalling challenging.
The forecast this year is almost identical to that in 2018 when the competition had to be cancelled on the day.
For all these reasons the Committee has decided to take the difficult decision to cancel the 2023 race. We are extremely sorry to disappoint crews who were looking forward to racing.
All entries will be refunded in full.
