UPDATE 26th Feb
The race on Saturday will go ahead under yellow flag conditions.
Unfortunately, there has been no meaningful drop in the stream and therefore the race on Saturday will undoubtedly run with a stronger stream.
Therefore, we will be cancelling the J15 categories (WJ15 8+, OpJ15 8+, OpJ15 4x+). We will refund as soon as possible.
All other categories will continue as normal.
The PLA advice under these conditions is:
-
Beginners, novices, younger junior (J15's and younger), or any weaker crews, and those that do not usually navigate on the tidal section of the River Thames not to go afloat on the ebb tide.
-
All river users of man-powered vessels should navigate with extreme caution and consider whether it is safe for them to go afloat on the ebb tide.
We have contacted low point crews directly to discuss the position.
