Race the Thames

Following the cancellation of this year's Hammersmith Head, we’ve teamed up with London Youth Rowing to support Race the Thames in the last week of March 2021. This is a virtual event for teams of 8. With the continued lockdown it is a fantastic opportunity to;

  • Get in the racing spirit with some competition against other clubs and organisations

  • Your entry fee supports a great cause in London Youth Rowing community projects

  • Encourage continued engagement and teamwork in training within your clubs

Within the overall Race the Thames platform crews will be able to enter under the Hammersmith Head banner and recreate a little bit of the race atmosphere

Your entry fee will go entirely to London Youth Rowing

All junior crews are free to enter Race the Thames!

Also, remember to look out for the NJIRC.

Junior rowing's biggest indoor event is back in May. Click here for more info on the NJIRC

Sunday 27th February 2022 - Start 12.30 pm
Closed River Course: Chiswick Bridge to Hammersmith Bridge (approx. 2 3/4 miles)

Held under British Rowing Rules of Racing and the Rowsafe code

The race is run in early spring and conditions on the Tideway can be challenging. With 300 boats on the water it is essential that all crews are aware of the rules and where they need to be at any time to ensure a safe and enjoyable event

Please read all documentation on the Information for Competitors page and ensure all your competing crews and coxswains are fully briefed
